Overview / Product Description
The Seatool 40D underwater housing is a glove fit for the ultra compact Canon 40D camera. It's a perfect system for the traveller looking for a high-end yet lightweight carry-on system.
Ultra light and compact
The Seatool 40D underwater housing is so lightweight you might think its plastic, however the Seatool is precision machined from solid aluminum and tightly follows the contours of the Canon EOS 40D. Travel is a breeze and underwater the system is almost perfectly neutral.
TTL strobe automation
The Seatool 40D housing allows the cameras built-in in flash to function as an external strobe trigger. A fiber optic cable transmits the light to your external strobe and you can shoot in TTL or manual mode. The built-in flash on the Canon 40D works best with strobes such as the Inon D-2000 or Inon Z-240. Optional 5-pin bulkheads allow more traditional type connections with other strobes.
- Standard Optical Window
The standard window is a lower cost option, but offers no magnification. Approximently 66% of the viewfinder image is visible underwater.
- Pickup 0.8x Viewfinder
The Pickup Viewfinder features a 0.8x reducing optic that allows full edge to edge view of the viewfinder image. This is our minimal recommend viewfinder. While not as large as the Inon option, this viewfinder is very easy to use and at a good price.
- Inon 45 degree Magnifying Viewfinder
The Inon finder is bright, sharp and greatly magnifies the entire viewfinder frame. It's 45 degree angle is great for low angle shots and allows you to keep your body off the reef. This viewfinder also rotates for vertical use.
