Nauticam NA-XH1 Underwater Housing for Fujifilm X-H1 Camera

The Fujifilm X-H1 is an APS-C X-Trans CMOS III sensor-equipped mirrorless camera that builds upon many of the greatest features of the X-Pro2 and X-T2 models yet features significant changes, especially in its video shooting capabilities. The X-H1, in addition to capturing still images with the outstanding 24.3 MP X-Trans II sensor can also record full sensor-width oversampled Cinema 4K video at up to 200 Mbps which is recorded internally in a variety of looks including Fuji's ETERNA Film Simulation or F-Log.

THE FUJIFILM X-H1 CAMERA

Fujifilm mirrorless digital cameras featuring the X-Trans sensors have always received high marks for image quality and excellent detail rendering. The X-H1 is no exception, featuring the latest APS-C sized 24.3MP X-Trans III CMOS sensor. The X-H1 adds 5-axis in-body stabilization that generates up to 5 stops of stabilization even when used with lenses that do not feature stabilization. The X-H1 also features a brilliant 3.69 M-dot electronic viewfinder with an 0.75X equivalent magnification.

For video shooters, the X-H1 adds internal C4K (DCI 4K) or UHD 4K capture at up to 30fps with a 200 Mbps bit-rate that uses the full sensor width meaning no loss of field-of-view and an oversampled image resulting in better image sharpness and color reproduction. Fujifilm has also given the option to capture in F-Log (Fuji's Log Gamma Mode) or their new ETERNA look which maximizes dynamic range while protecting highlight details. The X-H1 can also output a "clean" HDMI signal to allow for higher quality capture using a compatible external recorder such as the Ninja Inferno or Ninja Flame.

The X-H1 features dedicated ISO and Shutter Speed dials as well as an aperture control wheel giving direct access to all these controls. Native ISO range for the X-H1 is ISO 200 to 12,800. The camera also features a Dynamic Range Priority mode that uses the highlight and shadows of its tonal curve to maximize dynamic range with DR200% from ISO 400 upwards and DR400% from ISO 800 and higher.

THE NAUTICAM NA-XH1 UNDERWATER HOUSING

Magnifying viewfinders, the sharpest super macro accessory lenses ever made, and now the highest quality wet mount wide angle lens (the WWL-1) combined with the NA-XH1 housing to form a complete imaging system for every shooting situation. The N100 Port System supports a wide variety of Fuji X-mount lenses as well.

WWL-1 COMPATIBILITY

Three in-house Nauticam optical designs, designed by founder and Managing Director Edward Lai, are the perfect lenses to complete an NA-XH1 underwater system. The magic of the wet lenses is their tremendous versatility, paired with outstanding in-water performance. Both macro and super wide angle optics are available to the underwater photographer on the same dive. These lenses are completely engineered for use in water, providing the highest image quality available today in a wet mount optic.

WWL-1 is a wide angle conversion lens, compatible with several lenses in the Fuji X-Mount system. Paired with either the Fujinon XF 23mm F2 or Fujinon XF 18mm F2, the WWL-1 provides a super-wide field of view with class-leading center sharpness, corner sharpness, and contrast resulting in the clearest wide angle images possible underwater.

FLASH TRIGGERING

Reliable and rapid-fire manual flash exposure is available with the NA-XH1 and a variety of optically fired flashes such as the Inon Z-330, Inon Z-240, D-2000, S-2000, and Sea & Sea YS-D1/YS-D2J strobes using the optional Mini Flash Trigger for Panasonic/Fujifilm. This system yields manual flash performance with no electrical sync cables to flood! The NA-XH1 comes fiber optic ready and accepts standard Sea & Sea style bushing connections. Nauticam Fiber Optic cables, compatible with both Inon and Sea & Sea strobes, provide the best light transmission of any fiber optic cable on the market. Strobes and light arms can be attached to the housing via included 1″ accessory mounting balls.

INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is available with NA-XH1 as standard equipment. Combined with an optional M14 Vacuum Valve (PN 25624), this monitoring system provides constant updates on the watertight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

FEATURES

ROTARY LOCKING LATCH

An oversized rotary latch seals the housing and securely locks in place without risk of accidental opening. No control functions need to be preset or aligned when installing the camera, it simply drops into the housing and is ready to use.

STAINLESS STEEL HOUSING BRACKETS

Stiffening handle brackets are included with the housing. These brackets eliminate any flex or wobble when using big strobes, and provide multiple attachment points for lanyards or other accessories.

PATENTED PORT LOCKING SYSTEM

Unveiled on the very first Nauticam DSLR housing in 2009, this locking lever has become a signature of the Nauticam brand. No twisting or threading action is required to mount a port, and it locks securely in place with this lever. Nauticam also offers locking port extensions, meaning a dome will never twist, even when used with a long extension ring.

MISSION CONTROL

Nauticam engineers make your handles Mission Control for getting the shot. All essential controls are located close to the handles to minimize movement when capturing the moment.

VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The NA-XH1 comes with circuitry as standard equipment that provides constant monitoring of watertight integrity when combined with an optional Nauticam M14 Vacuum Valve II (PN 25624).
