Nauticam Canon EOS M50 II Underwater Housing NA-EOSM50II

The Canon EOS M50 Mark II is a 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor mirrorless camera that builds upon Canon's ever-growing mirrorless lineup. The M50 Mark II features a built-in 2.36M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) combined with its 3.0" 1.04M-dot vari-angle touchscreen. It is capable of recording 4K/24p UHD video with a 1.5x crop and HD up to 120p.
 

THE CANON EOS M50 CAMERA

For the underwater shooter looking to move into an interchangeable lens camera system with a large APS-C sensor, the 24MP Canon EOS M50 Mark II is a feature-rich yet a budget-friendly option. Adding enhanced Dual Pixel Autofocus with both eye and face detection, 4K/24p UHD video (with a 1.5x crop), and a built-in EVF the EOS M50 Mark II sits between the EOS M200 and M6 Mark II. The M50 Mark II also allows for the capture of images in Canon's CR3 RAW format that allows for full-resolution compressed RAW capture.

NA-EOSM50II features an integrated handle system that provides exceptional control access, even with thick gloves, and ideal placement of the shutter release and critical function buttons at the right handle.

Nauticam build quality is well known by underwater photographers around the globe. The housing is machined from a solid block of aluminum, then hard anodized making it impervious to saltwater corrosion. Marine-grade stainless and plastic parts complete the housing, and it is backed by a two-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
 

WWL-C COMPATIBILITY

Designed by founder and Managing Director Edward Lai, the WWL-C is the perfect lens to complete an EOS M50 Mark II underwater system. The magic of the wet lenses is their tremendous versatility, paired with outstanding in-water performance. Both macro (CMC-1/2) and super wide angle optics (WWL-1/C) are available to the underwater photographer on the same dive. These lenses are completely engineered for use in water, providing the highest image quality available today in a wet mount optic.

WWL-C is a wide angle conversion lens, compatible with several lenses in the Canon EF-M system. Paired with the 15-45mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM the WWL-C allows the zoom range from 17mm to 45mm to be used. This combination provides class-leading center sharpness, corner sharpness, and contrast which results in the clearest wide angle images possible underwater.
 

FLASH CONNECTORS FOR INON S-TTL, SEA & SEA DS-TTL

Reliable automatic flash exposure is available with the NA-EOSM50II and a variety of optically fired flashes. The Inon Z330, Z240, D2000, S2000, and Sea & Sea YS-D2J, YS-D3 strobes provide automated lighting, precisely reproducing the camera’s onboard flash at a proportionally greater intensity. This system yields accurate automatic TTL flash performance – even in manual mode – with no electrical sync cables to flood! The NA-EOSM50II comes fiber optic ready and accepts standard Sea & Sea style bushing connections. Nauticam Fiber Optic cables, compatible with both Inon and Sea & Sea strobes, provide the best light transmission and therefore more accurate TTL of any fiber optic cable on the market.

Strobes and light arms can be attached to the housing via included 1″ accessory mounting balls.

Electrical strobe triggering (with power set manually on the flash head) is still an option for those with an investment in legacy lighting gear, requiring the purchase of an accessory electrical bulkhead.
 

INTEGRATED VACUUM CHECK AND LEAK DETECTION SYSTEM

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is available with NA-EOSM50II as standard equipment. Combined with an optional M14 Vacuum Valve II (PN 25624), this monitoring system provides constant updates on the watertight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

PATENTED PORT LOCKING SYSTEM

Unveiled on the very first Nauticam DSLR housing in 2009, this locking lever has become a signature of the Nauticam brand. No twisting or threading action is required to mount a port, and it locks securely in place with this lever. Nauticam also offers locking port extensions, meaning a dome will never twist, even when used with a long extension ring.
 

HOUSING LOCKING LATCH

The secure single rotating housing latch opens the housing back allowing for quick and easy battery or media changes
 

STAINLESS STEEL HANDLE BRACKETS

Stiffening handle brackets are included with the housing. These brackets eliminate any flex or wobble when using big strobes, and provide multiple attachment points for lanyards or other accessories.
