If you're looking for the ultimate point-and-shoot experience underwater, the 200FP/T Underwater Housing for the Sony Alpha a6700 with built-in TTL electronics is the best choice.
Ikeltie has set up the 200FP/T Underwater Housing for the Sony Alpha a6700 exactly as Ikelite would use it: with TTL Circuitry, a Dual Tray with Dual Handles, Trigger Extensions, a Vacuum System, and a spare O-Ring.
This housing is designed to accommodate the Sony a6700 camera with the attached ultra-compact Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS lens. The lens' Power Zoom (PZ) capabilities allow you to set up the camera with drop-in loading. The built-in glass flat port has 67mm threads on the front to attach external wet lenses. A compatible 67mm to bayonet adapter (not included) is recommended when attaching heavier wide-angle lenses.
Built-in TTL electronics provide the most accurate and reliable exposure possible with compatible Ikelite DS strobe(s).
Ikelite's custom ABS-PC blend is lighter than aluminum yet strong enough for almost anything you want to throw at it. The included Vacuum System allows you to check for leaks before entering the water.
Ikelite's specially formulated ABS-PC blend housing is highly durable yet lightweight for travel. The light color keeps your camera cooler when shooting in warm, sunny environments.
TTL or "Thru-the-Lens" flash metering means the camera evaluates the scene and communicates exposure information directly to the compatible flash. The camera automatically adjusts the power output of the external flash, so you don't have to.
TTL exposure is faster and usually more accurate than setting the flash output manually. TTL can be the difference between getting a properly exposed image or not, especially when shooting fast-moving subjects and subjects moving towards or away from you. TTL is by far the easiest way to shoot perfectly exposed macro photography and allows you to concentrate on focus and framing.
Some people think TTL is only good for macro, but they're wrong! When shooting wide-angle or close-focus wide-angle (CFWA), set your camera to properly expose the background and let the DL2 adjust your strobe intensity to expose the foreground properly.
Ikelite was the first company to introduce TTL for underwater strobes with Sony DSLR and mirrorless digital cameras and continues to set the standard for the accuracy of the Sony TTL flash protocol.
Connecting an electrical sync cord is as quick and easy as screwing in a light bulb. Electrical triggering supports greater accuracy, faster rapid firing, and fewer missed flashes than fiber optic triggering. The use of electrical TTL also dramatically increases strobe battery life.
Unless otherwise noted, this housing does not accommodate adding-on grips, battery grips, eyepieces, LCD covers, or other accessories.
Differences in lens and control placement prevent other camera models from being used in or adapted to this housing. Ikelite is unaware of any other models that may be used in or adapted to this housing.
