Hartenberger Nano Video & Focus LightReliabilityHartenberger is known throughout the world as the most reliable supplier of underwater lighting. In search of the greatest focus light, the owner of Backscatter first met Mr. Hartenberger in Germany in 2004 and was told of the new Nano in development. In a true "We make no light before it's right" style Hartenberger proceeded to test the light for years until its final release in 2006. The Nano now solidly ranks as our most reliable light ever sold.
Customized for BackscatterAs the US distributor for Hartenberger, we've asked them to modify their standard Nano specifically for focus light use. Thus you'll find our special version comes standard with a wide beam lens, modified handle to accept mounting hardware, and a fast charger.
Lithium Manganese BatteriesA significant secret of the Nano reliability is the reliable chemistry of Lithium Manganese battery cells. Unlike typical NiMH or Lithium Ion cells, these cells remain safe when crushed, punctured, immersed in water, and don't produce explosive hydrogen gas. The secrets in the recipe and Hartenberger's quality control.
Charge the battery without touching an o-ringThanks to this stability and safety in the lithium manganese cells, Hartenberger is able to construct a lamp that can be charged without opening the housing, an attractive feature for divers. Simply plug the charger into the waterproof ports on the back of the Nano and get 100% power in 2.5 hours with the included multi-volt charger. This is a great feature on live-aboard boats that have charging power near your gear storage as you'll not even need to remove the light from the housing.
Swappable BatteryIf you're out for a full day of diving, the Nano features a quick swappable battery pack. Simply purchase a spare battery and charge two of them up before a day of serious diving. Two battery packs keep most people shooting all day (and night). Most people find the 50-130 minute burntime only requires a second battery for longer dayboat trips.
4 Power Levels with Battery MeterFour LEDs on the back of the Nano display your current power level setting and then switch to display you existing battery life. With LEDs positioned on the back of the light, it only takes a quick glance up to check your status.
