Learn more about us at backscatter.com. JOB DESCRIPTION Backscatter caters to all underwater shooters, from first-time vacation divers to working cinematographers. It is important to us that when customers call for support, they’re not only talking to a diver but also one who regularly shoots the same gear they’re using. A typical day for Backscatter sales and support staff is spent offering advice, technical support, and feedback via phone, email, video chat, and in person. Our primary goal is to make the retail process painless for our customers and to make sure they have the gear and knowledge necessary to meet their goals. Immersed Education: The Underwater Video & Photo Technical Specialist will have full access to the Backscatter demo and rental gear locker, as well as intensive training sessions on a variety of equipment and techniques with the professional Backscatter staff. We encourage all staff to apply on-the-job learning to their personal passion for underwater photography, as inspired users offer the best support. The Tech Specialist will be required to research and test new gear on a constant basis to keep up with the ever-evolving world of underwater imaging. Minimum Requirements: The Underwater Video & Photo Technical Specialist should be an avid diver and ambitious artist. While a background in underwater imaging is preferred, we will also consider experienced land photo/video shooters with a keen interest in pursuing underwater photography. High-end retail experience is a plus, however, candidates with little to no sales experience will also be considered. Our ideal team member’s passion for underwater imaging trumps formal sales experience. Relocation Support: We are a unique company in a unique and beautiful location. We are willing to facilitate migration for the right candidate and welcome all qualified applicants with authorization to work in the US. Nonlocal top candidates may be hosted in Monterey, California, for a multi-week trial period.
