Nauticam NA-LX5 Underwater Housing for Panasonic LX5 Camera

The NA-LX5 housing is built for Panasonic Lumix LX5, the ultimate compact, high-performing digital camera valued by both professional and enthusiast photographers. The housing is also compatible with Leica D-Lux 5 camera.

KEY FEATURES

The NA-LX5 housing features an outstanding ergonomic design in a compact housing body in that it allows full access to camera function. It also features a super sensitive shutter release mechanism, which effectively resulting in an enhanced textile experience with the moment of truth underwater. In order to access the most frequently used camera function while avoiding space clash at such compact housing body, the housing conveniently combines camera on/off with video function in one lever which allows fast camera switch on and move into video shooting mode when push it further forward.

One of the most important aspects of the LX-5 for underwater photography is the TTL-capability of the internal pop-up flash in M mold. Hence, the photographer can freely choose to use any shutter speed and aperture combination while external D-TTL and DS-TTL capable strobes are accuratly triggered by the camera pop up flash.

The LX5 housing successes the same housing lock design from NA-NEX5 housing and incorporates an improved easy detachable optical mount. It has a standard M67mm thread hole allowing various brand diopter to be attached, and a newly developed wide angle dome converter gives the joy of using the cameras ultra-wide-angle 24mm Leica lens.

The Panasonic DMC-LX5 is fully re-designed in the lens, the CCD and the image processing engine together with other improvements and upgrades. The developed super bright F2.0 ultra wide angle 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens minimizes distortion for stunning, true-to-life images with outstanding resolution and detail. The 24mm wide angle offers extraordinarily large viewing space and now the optical zoom is extended to 3.8x (90mm) making the LX5 even more versatile. The DMC-LX5 is equipped with developed F2.0 24mm ultra-wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with even higher resolution. The super bright, high quality lens is redesigned for extension of the optical zoom from LX3s 2.5x (60mm) to 3.8x (90mm) to be even more versatile for snapshots including portraits. The F2.0 lens is about twice as bright as the F2.8 lens; itself generally considered a bright lens. The result is a higher shutter speed can be used to capture stunningly clear, sharp, blur-free images in lower lighting situation. This advanced lens also makes it easy to produce beautiful photos with pleasing soft-focused background thanks to the shallow depth of field provided by the extra light. Also, the 24mm ultra-wide-angle lens - rare on a compact camera - gives photographers a wider range of composition possibilities. The super-high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens minimizes distortion at the wide end, so users can get stunning, true-to-life images with outstanding resolution and detail. The LX5 captures approx. 213% larger viewing space compared to that of normal 35mm cameras, and approx. 136% larger compared to that of 28mm wide-angle lenses.

The new Sea & Sea YS-01 Strobe features a circular beam angle of 100 degrees x 100 degrees and a guide number of up to 20. The YS-01 is a new compact-type slave strobe that can be used for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography.

You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and a ten-level manual control function, to enable fine adjustment of the light level. You can also set up a lighting system that uses two strobes in DS-TTL mode. Power comes from four AA batteries for a powerful and long-lasting strobe. You can enjoy taking pictures all day long without having to recharge the batteries. The recycle time takes 1.9 seconds with nickel-metal hydride batteries (2700 mAh) for stress-free continuous shooting.

The YS-01 is furnished with a high-luminance white LED target light (1W) indicating the optical axis of the strobe attached to its front face that is effective for night diving. You can fully exercise your creativity with the YS-01, which can be used as a primary strobe or secondary strobe in a wide range of applications, from compact digital cameras to digital SLR cameras.
