Panasonic HVX200 and Sony Ex1
We were really attracted to the interchangable lenses of the Canon XL H1S, but the minimal compression of the Panasonic HVX200 has won our favor. A close second is the new Sony EX1. Both the HVX200 and EX1 record to flash media at 1920 x 1080 resolutions, but the Panasonic HVX200 is unique with its advanced color pull down scheme and DVCPRO HD compression codec. The Sony EX1 ranks a close second due to it's popularity among underwater housing manufacturers and it's larger 1/2 inch chip size. You will certainly see footage from these cameras in the 2009 TV season.
