Overview / Product Description

Extreme Macro

Get incredibly sharp 3:1 (three times life-size) macro images with the underwater removable MacroMate lens for the Canon S10 Video housing.

Sealed Achromatic Glass Optics

Custom achromatic lenses are sealed in a glass optical housing and provide extreme magnification with incredibly sharp edges. This unique design produces much tighter and sharper images than simple close-up lenses that are exposed to water. The air sealed chamber maximizes the optical properties of the close-up lens without distortion or soft edges.

Flip-up Design

The Flip-Up MacroMate is design to mount on the port and allows the photographer to quickly flip the lens up and out of the way.

Specifications

Optics: Multi-coated acromatic lenses sealed in an optical glass housing

Magnification: 3:1 (3x lifesize)

Hardware: Custom machined delrin adapter with stainless fasteners

Weight in Air: 1.55 lb / 24.8 oz (most designs)

Weight in Fresh Water: 0.56 lb / 9 oz (most designs)

Installing your Flip-Up MacroMate

Most MacroMate flip-up designs allow you position the hinge in any position. While most new users install the hinge on top (12:00 position), we prefer to install the hinge at the 10:30 position. In this position, the lens will flip toward the shutter release and thus keep the weight of the lens closer to your shooting hand when not in use. Once you use the MacroMate you'll likely never make a dive without it. However, if you know you're not going to use it, simply unscrew the hinge bolt for a quick release without the need for tools. NOTE: The Titan design is fixed in the 12:00 position due to the angled design of the port. Custom options are available.
