Olympus PEN E-PL1 Camera

Recording HD movies with the E-PL1 is simple thanks to an easy-to-reach red "direct button" (red record button) on the back of the camera body. If you're about to snap a photo and you realize a video would capture the spirit of the scene even better, simply press the record button and instantly you're capturing videos! Easily toggle back and forth between capturing stills and video by using your index finger to press the shutter button or your thumb to press the red record button. Having the ability to shoot still images and videos opens up a world of imaging possibilities.

The E-PL1's Live Guide simplifies great photography and gets the results you desire at the touch of a button. Want a brighter or darker subject, or a sharper or softer background? Want more vivid or muted color in your shot? Want warmer or cooler tones? Simply press ok while in iAuto, select Live Guide and press up or down arrows on the back of the camera to slide through all these photographic effects on the LCD and make adjustments before snapping the shot. Forget about learning technical things like f-stops, shutter speed and white balance, and jump right in by composing, adjusting exposure and more within your scene before the shot is taken. Helpful tips for photographing children, pets, flowers and more are also available.

Olympus PEN E-PL1 Housing

The PT-EP01 underwater case has been especially customized for one camera of the PEN family, the E-PL1. It is the world's first waterproof housing for a Micro Four Thirds camera.

The extreme light weight PT-EP01 (only approximately 2.4lbs/1.1kg, just half as much as the PT-E06) is waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 130 feet/40 meters. As a genuine advantage to the underwater photographer, you can make use of the Live View function on the one hand, but it is also possible to attach the electronic Viewfinder to the E-PL1 and use it underwater.

Additionally the PT-EP01 has a small, but very important feature at the backside cover. The back is semitransparent and has a further monitoring window just below the LCD window, which allows you to detect any water leakage before having serious material damage.

The PT-EP01 has a fix lens port and supports the use of the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 and the M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6.

Besides the possible flash connection the PT-EP01 offers the use of a macro lens adapter (PMLA-EP01) to attach the macro lens (PTMC-01) for special macro photography. The high quality underwater photography is additionally strengthened through the underwater macro and underwater wide shooting modes of the E-PL1.

Sea&Sea YS-01

The new Sea & Sea YS-01 Strobe features a circular beam angle of 100 degrees x 100 degrees and a guide number of up to 20. The YS-01 is a new compact-type slave strobe that can be used for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography.

You can switch between DS-TTL (Digital Slave TTL) and a ten-level manual control function, to enable fine adjustment of the light level. You can also set up a lighting system that uses two strobes in DS-TTL mode. Power comes from four AA batteries for a powerful and long-lasting strobe. You can enjoy taking pictures all day long without having to recharge the batteries. The recycle time takes 1.9 seconds with nickel-metal hydride batteries (2700 mAh) for stress-free continuous shooting.

The YS-01 is furnished with a high-luminance white LED target light (1W) indicating the optical axis of the strobe attached to its front face that is effective for night diving. You can fully exercise your creativity with the YS-01, which can be used as a primary strobe or secondary strobe in a wide range of applications, from compact digital cameras to digital SLR cameras.
